The new Face’s of Exeter’s Princesshay are crowned!
Following months of
anticipation, the two new Face’s of Exeter’s Princesshay were crowned at a
catwalk show finale event featuring all 12 finalists held at the Southgate
Hotel on Saturday 12th November.
Over 280 local people from
Exeter and the surrounding area aged between 16 – 30 entered the competition
back in late September and early October, before readers of the Express and
Echo and Mid Devon Gazette voted for 30 semi finalists. The semi finalists met
the judges in early November before being whittled down to the final 12 lucky
finalists who spent the day with a professional stylist and choreographer
putting together a catwalk show.
17 year old Hannah Groves
from Honiton and 23 year old Exeter University student Jake Griffths ‘strutted
their stuff’ to victory in a fabulous catwalk show cheered on by friends,
family, VIP guests and the judges. The runners up were Ayesha Hacking and Adam
Lawson.
Hannah
Groves, the new female Face of Exeter’s Princesshay 2011 said, “I think I’m still in shock. I really can’t believe it. I had such a
fun day and it was great to meet all the other finalists and work with a top
stylist and choreographer. I’m really looking forward to representing
Princesshay and being part of their events and I’m especially excited about the
professional photo shoot we’ll feature in as part of the prize.”
Jake
Griffiths, the new male Face of Exeter’s Princesshay 2011
said, “I think I speak on behalf of all the
finalists when I say that the whole experience has been so much fun. I can’t
believe I’ve won and I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with the
Princesshay team and helping turn on Exeter’s Christmas lights next week!”
The 12 finalists were
styled by Chantelle Znideric, competition stylist from Top Stylista modelling
clothes from Reiss, Coast, Moss, New Look and Next. Bethany Rose Harrison, a
local dancer that made it to the semi final of the BBC Show ‘So You Think You
Can Dance’ choreographed the show and spent the day with the finalists teaching
them the steps and building their confidence.
Bethany
Rose Harrison commented,
“I worked them all really hard but they definitely
stepped up to the challenge and did themselves proud on the night! It’s been
great to support this local campaign and I think we have picked two very worthy
winners.”
Chantelle Znideric and
Bethany Rose Harrison were joined on the judging panel by Marc Astley, Editor
of the Express and Echo and three Princesshay Store Managers – Amanda Leach
from Insideout, Hannah Norwood from Coast and Rona Butler from Nike Running.
